At The Hermit we pride ourselves on our warm welcome, the highest of service levels and of course our delicious homemade food. We apply these exact same principles to events held at our 300 year old pub, making sure that your birthday, wedding, christening or wake runs as smoothly as possible and is a day to remember.
The perfect space for a perfect event
Our event space can be booked exclusively for your private party or gathering. Our large dining table seats up to 12 and the whole room seats 25-30. Tables can be moved for standing space and if you would like to go buffet style the space can accommodate approximately 50 with a mixture of standing and seating.

Food options to suit any occasion
The Hermit kitchen team can work with you to create your perfect buffet. From Hermit hand stretched pizza, all the way up to oak roast salmon with asparagus or rare roast beef with watercress & horseradish, the options are extensive and customisable.
Alternatively, if your vision includes a sit down meal, we’ll work with you to get the right number of course and dishes to suit your guests.

“When I needed a venue for a surprise birthday lunch, I rang a few places in the area - I'm so glad we picked this one. Right from the start, the staff at the Hermit were helpful and accomodating. Their function room turned out to be the ideal venue for a group of about 20 family and friends on a Sunday lunchtime. The pub has been beautifully renovated, the choice of ales is excellent and food and service is superb. The Manager George and his team discreetly helped us pull off the surprise and seemed to enjoy it too! After a long walk over Ikley Moor, the birthday girls and all her guests had a wonderful afternoon at this pub. We can't wait to go back.”
